Weise Communications Wins Denver 50 Award

DENVER—January 30, 2012—Weise Communications, an integrated marketing, advertising, public relations and social media agency in Denver, was honored at Thursday's The Fifty (The Denver Ad Club’s awards) with an award for its “Rethinking Eating Disorders” advertising campaign for the Eating Disorder Center of Denver. Also honored at the event was Weise Communications’ intern Hande Uckaleler with an Aces award for Best Intern.

The Rethinking Eating Disorder campaign (see below) educated the public that eating disorders are a mental disease  and used close-up photography and eating disorder research as sub headlines to prove the point. Weise created a series of four ads to touch on the variety of eating disorders the center treats, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and exercise bulimia. In addition to creating these new and innovative ad concepts, Weise developed a multi-media implementation plan for the ads that was respectful of a modest budget.

“We’re very proud the Rethinking Eating Disorders campaign. Our team really wanted to produce a campaign that did more than just bring in new patients, we wanted to generate awareness for the disease and how and why it manifests, and we think this campaign achieves this goal. We highly respect The Fifty and The Denver Ad Club and were honored with this award,” said Tracy Weise, president of Weise Communications.
