How to Improve Your Website's SEO

Last week, we covered reasons using a website to represent your business is necessary. This week, we discuss how best to utilize your website by incorporating SEO best practices. Here are four easy ways to improve your SEO.

Make sure it’s mobile-friendly. Mobile has been outperforming laptop and desktop usage since 2015. This trend is expected to continue as the popularity of mobile devices continues to grow. Whether it’s a smartphone or a tablet, people are increasingly using their mobile devices for online searches. As we’ve stated again and again in this blog over the last few months, you must have a mobile-friendly website.

Refine your messaging. The content on your website needs to be concise and to the point. Visitors to your site are likely to be discouraged by large blocks of text. Instead, they want to know right away that you offer the product or service they’re looking for.

Get it up to date. In last week’s blog, we stated that a website increases a company’s credibility. Additionally, a website that appears old and outdated will surely hurt your credibility. A current, credible website design is one that is uncomplicated and user-friendly.

Keep up the pace. In the digital age, there is little patience out there for websites that take too long for pages to load. Many people will forego the wait and simply leave the site. If this happens often, your bounce rate will increase and your SEO ranking will suffer. Remember, Google’s algorithm observes the speed at which your website’s pages load. Accordingly, your SEO ranking will continue to plummet if your website is not up to par.
